HENRICOKE, Va. (WKRN) - Large numbers of civilians in northern Syria with weapons have been mainly killed using chemical munitions since last week, according to a developer first granted humanitarian access by Russia.
Nour Mohammad, the CEO of the Aleppo Council of Civil Society, says after several months of "disparate death to innocent people, regionally and globally" he is confident Russia can eradicate chemical weapons once and for all.
On Monday, the president of Syria began authorised military strikes against
gas stations in rebel-held areas in West Aleppo. It was reported he also took action in areas of Kfar Yayladen.
The monitoring group Sangeres, based out of Belgrade, and SyriaTruth News have repeatedly pointed out as many as five hospitals and dozens of food warehouses are linked to opposition government forces operating out of West Aleppo.
"As of the worlds knowledge these are United States precision strikes aiming at everything in direct control areas," Mohammad told News4Jax Wednesday.
Once these squares are cleared of civilians, it changes the momentum for chemical warfare eliminations: on the streets of West Aleppo against the vast supply of chemical material.
"These are not hospital it's become a type of storage — is there a quid pro quo that the Assad regime is willing to accept the destruction of these areas a [horizontal] advance?"
The United Nations declared 47,000 civilians need medical aid in Syria on Wednesday and 19,430 benefits for civilians last week alone. Mohammad now thinks the Damascus regime is giving the sarin
gas to civilians there and Yabroud, other parts of the city are the same.
